This booth summarizes some of the work of the three project partners BMW, FZI and ika that has been done within the SET Level project regarding traffic agent models. The main goal has been to standardize the way how agent models are integrated in various simulation environments to make them easily interchangable.
In order to do that a schema was developed and implemented that allows to plug&play agent models into simulation environments. It is based on two publicly available standards: The open simulation interface (OSI) and the Functional Mockup Interface, short FMI.
Existing OSI messages were extended and specification on how to use them was formulated. This specification has been added to the so called OSI sensor model packaging (OSMP) standard which regulates how a functional mockup unit (FMU) must be filled and read by the simulation environment. For example, IPG CarMaker or openPASS.
Within the project, three traffic agent models has been developed and integrated with help of the described interfaces. Namely, two driver models and one pedestrian model. Some impressions can be seen in the videos below. More extensive information and examples of simulation runs may be found in the digital material.
